TAP announced the winner of "Safe Road Users" award (07/11/08)
The UWA Health Promotion Unit (Tertiary Alcohol Project) was announced the winner of the Innsurance Commision of Western Australia Road Safety Awards (Safe Road Users category) at the awards ceremony at the Burswood Entertainment Complex on Thursday 6th November 2008.
The Insurance Commision of Western Australia Road Safety Awards encourage, recognise and reward outstanding contributions in road safety. The awards aim to:
- Recognise innovations in road safety, and encourage individuals and organisation in the road transport industry, business sector and community, to pursue innovative practices to improve road safety.
- Increase individuals, organisations, business sectors, government agencies and community involvement in the battle against road deaths and injuries, and urge individuals and groups that have created road safety projects or contribute in improving raod safety to nominate for an award.
The strength of the Tertiary Alcohol Project is its partnerships approach. The "Skippers in the Tav" program has been strongly supported by the Student Guild, The North Metro Community Drug Service, RoadWise, and the Office of Road Safety.
